US Census 2010

The US Government will be conducting a Census in 2010. The Census is mandated by the Constitution of the United States and is conducted every ten years. When you fill out the census form, you’re making a statement about what resources your community needs going forward. Accurate data reflecting changes in your community are crucial in apportioning seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and deciding how more than $400 billion per year is allocated for projects like new hospitals and schools. That's more than $4 trillion over a 10-year period for things like new roads and schools, and services like job training centers. As a PTA we are committed to keeping you informed about things that affect our community. Please visit www.2010Census.gov for more information. Many people are needed to help conduct the census and information about available job opportunities can also be found on the website.

Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area

The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area is a 2,000 acre wilderness of prairies, forests, and wetlands managed as a wildlife preserve by a group of agencies including the US Army Corps of Engineers, the University of North Texas, and City of Lewisville, Lewisville ISD, and Texas A&M University. Its mission is to preserve and restore native ecosystems and to provide and promote environmental education and scientific research. LLELA is open to the public every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for fishing, hiking camping, bird watching, kayaking/canoeing, picnicking and other outdoor activities.
